ECWA is proud to attend the Baldwin Hills Farmers Market. Our upcoming Neighborhood Council Elections will be there on May 10, 2014 from 10 am until 2 pm. Mark your calendar now for this very special election, one where you’ll be electing your neighbors or community members. In fact, you will probably recognize the candidates from shopping at the market or attending Baldwin Hills Crenshaw concerts!
Each week, the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Certified Farmers Market offers a variety of farm fresh produce, delicious gourmet goods and unique artisan goods. Depending upon the season, you’ll be able to find Fuji apples and Asian pears, mustard greens, kale and Swiss chard, along with citrus and stone fruits. Farmers Markets produce is closer from farm to market, therefore making it a better value because you’re receiving more of the nutrients you’re paying for.
Baldwin Hills Crenshaw has hosted the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Farmers Market for the past four years. The market ties into the mall’s diverse bFit health initiative, which promotes wellness throughout the Crenshaw community. The B Fit programming includes free events and services throughout the year, such as weekly Zumba, cardio kick and yoga classes, as well as blood pressure screens and annual health and wellness fairs. visit www.baldwinhillscrenshaw.com for more info.
The Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Farmers Market is produced by Sustainable Economic Enterprises of Los Angeles (SEE-LA) which operates seven Certified Farmers Markets in Los Angeles County, the largest being the Hollywood Farmers’ Market in service since 1991. For more information, visit www.seela.org
