Neighborhood Purpose Grants

Each year funding is set aside to support activities that improve the quality of life in our community.  This can range from helping to underwrite a portion of the cost associated with a one-time special event, improve a public space or support a non-profit organization or city agency located and serving the residents with in our neighborhood council boundaries.

The city now allows NCs to support non-profit and public organizations within their community through a Neighborhood Purpose Grant (NPG). If you are seeking general support grant for a project that serves our community – you should complete the NC REF NPG (Neighborhood Purpose Grant) package.  You will need to include your 501 C3 determination letter; W9, etc.

All funding decisions for the current year’s budget (July 1 – June 30) must be reviewed by the Finance Committee and then presented to the full board for final determination. We encourage groups to attend at least 2-3 meetings prior to seeking funding in order to have a better understanding of the funding process and community priorities.

Neighborhood Purpose Grant application and guidelines

Please note that Funding helps ECWANDC with Outreach so we will have expectations of sponsorship visibility.  The activity must be accessible to all residents or benefit the community as a whole.  Additionally, completed applications must be submitted at minimum 60 days prior to the event date.
